Your role and responsibilities

We are currently recruiting Industry Consultant-Consulting Services for a 18-month fixed term contract, based in Perth.

Role and responsibility -

The Application Development team is responsible for supporting the full life cycle of enhancements. As an Application Developer your responsibilities include -

• Develop and maintain GIS applications and tools to support asset management, field operations, network planning, and regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrate strong proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Suite, including ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online, as well as spatial databases such as PostGIS and Oracle Spatial.
• Apply a deep understanding of utility network models, asset lifecycle management, and geospatial analytics to deliver high-impact solutions.
• Design and implement scalable GIS platforms using industry-standard technologies including ESRI ArcGIS, FME, and cloud-based services.
• Integrate GIS solutions with enterprise systems such as SCADA, ERP, CRM, and mobile workforce platforms to ensure seamless data flow and operational efficiency.
• Develop and enforce spatial data models, standards, and governance practices to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and interoperability across business units.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, IT, and regulatory departments to gather requirements and deliver tailored GIS solutions.
• Ensure the security, performance, and reliability of GIS systems, including disaster recovery planning and adherence to data governance policies.
• Participate in the development and execution of GIS strategies aligned with organizational goals and digital transformation initiatives.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior GIS team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Work independently and collaboratively to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality solutions that meet client and stakeholder expectations.
• Assist in the design and presentation of GIS solutions for internal and external stakeholders, including participation in client meetings and demonstrations.
• Engage in daily code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, share insights, and promote knowledge exchange.
• Maintain awareness of project timelines and budgets, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of GIS solutions.
• Adhere to established development processes, coding standards, and best practices to ensure maintainability and scalability of GIS applications.

To ensure success in the role you will possess the following skills -

• Experience with GIS Platforms, ArcGIS (Enterprise, Online, Pro)
• Web Development: ASP.NET, Front-end frameworks (React, Angular), Metadata & Spatial Data Handling, GeoJSON, shapefiles, KML, ArcPy, FME (Feature Manipulation Engine)
• Experience in implement scalable GIS platforms using industry-standard technologies including ESRI ArcGIS, FME, and cloud-based services
• Code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, share insights, and promote knowledge exchange.
• Understanding of design patterns
• Experience with relational databases
• Strong written and verbal communications
• Solid skills in CSS, HTML, jQuery
