IBM Expert Labs_Senior Solution Architect_IBM Z Software

In Expert Labs/ SW Migration Project Office(SMPO), our Solution Architects excel by defining and coordinating the implementation of large complex Z software migration and implementation projects.
Our clients rely on deep experience and skilled oversight, and as Senior Solution Architect, you will provide technical and strategic guidance to the sales and delivery project teams. Your technical knowledge of the Z platform with your knowledge of the SMPO delivery methodology, along with your advanced communication skills will support the teams in making strong technical and architectural decisions.
Your role and responsibilities
IBM z Software is team is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to support sales and oversee the delivery of software projects and migration services to clients across Australia and Asia-Pacific region.
As a Senior Solution Architect you will be responsible for the design and implementation of large complex software migration projects to be executed by various cross-functional teams. These teams could include vendors and other internal and external resources.
You will interact closely with multiple teams and vendors to define the project parameters and to support the Expert Labs teams to develop detailed project documentation to outline the project scope, business requirements, project plans, schedules and status.
During delivery you would provide guidance and direction to multiple Program and Project Managers, and technical leaders also assigned to the project.
You will provide a leadership role interacting with Customer executives and technical leaders.

Required technical and professional expertise
• Experience working and communicating with "C" level executives as well as technical managers
• Ability to act as a trusted adviser to customer Executives and senior Technical leaders.
• Demonstrated deep knowledge of IBM Z platform and operational considerations
• Demonstrated excellent written and communications skills
• Experience leading cross-functional technical teams,
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to organize competing priorities and adapt to change
• Must be an Australian citizen preferably with Australian Federal Government clearances (or willingness to apply for appropriate clearances).

• At least ten years of technical project management experience
• At least 15+ years of Z mainframe experience including in senior and direction setting roles
Preferred technical and professional experience
• IBM Z Mainframe platform experience
• Experience of software migration from 3rd Party ISV Z mainframe software to equivalent IBM Z software
• Technical competence in at least one domain of IBM Z software products
• Experience doing application development on IBM Z, including programming languages like Cobol or PL/1 is a plus
• Experience in IBM Z Modernization strategies and tools.
• Knowledge of Transaction processing systems and enterprise infrastructure design.
