Introduction
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of a strategic Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) Platform Project. This role is pivotal in transforming and modernizing how our clients manage their diverse energy portfolio, which spans Electricity, Natural Gas, Crude Oil, Refined Products, and Renewable Energy sources. The successful candidate will bring a balance of strong project leadership, deep energy domain knowledge, and the ability to bridge business knowledge with technical execution.
Your role and responsibilities
1. Project Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budget. Oversee all project phases from initiation to closure, ensuring adherence to project plans and industry best practices.
2. Stakeholder Management: Engage and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management, business users, IT teams, vendors, and external consultants. Facilitate effective communication and ensure alignment of project objectives with business needs.

3. Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage a team of project leads, business analysts, developers, and testers. Provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to enhance team effectiveness and professional growth.
4. Risk Management: Identify, assess, mitigate, and monitor project risks. Implement contingency plans as necessary to minimize potential negative impacts on project objectives.
5. Quality Assurance: Define and enforce quality standards for project deliverables. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
6. Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and service providers. Negotiate contracts, manage performance, and ensure deliverables meet project requirements.
7. Change Management: Lead the change management process, ensuring all changes are properly evaluated, documented, communicated, and implemented where appropriate.
8. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project deliverables, status reports, risk registers, and lessons learned documents.
9. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving project management processes and methodologies. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies pertaining to ETRM.

Required education

Required technical and professional expertise
1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 6 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years in managing large-scale, complex IT projects within the energy sector.
3. Proven track record of managing successful ETRM platform implementations or similar large-scale projects.
4. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
5. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
6. Experience with project management tools and methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.
7. 1 year experience developing and managing project plans in MS Project.
8. In-depth understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, and system integration principles.
9. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred technical and professional experience
1. Working knowledge of ETRM platforms such as Openlink Endur, Allegro, RightAngle, or Enuit, with domain experience in generation dispatch modeling, renewable PPA tracking, and energy scheduling.
2. Understanding of regulatory frameworks including FERC, CFTC, NERC, and EPA regulations applicable to power producers and fuel trading.
3. Professional project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, etc.) is preferred.
4. Knowledge of energy trading and risk management principles and practices is preferred.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
This position is eligible for participation in an IBM Sales Incentive plan. Actual incentive opportunity will be based on performance and the eligible Target Incentive, as addressed in the applicable plan, all of which is subject to change. The compensation range listed for this position is the IBM Reference Salary that is used when you are not actively participating in a sales plan. Your actual base pay plus incentive opportunity will be determined by the Incentive Plan assigned to you.
