Delivery Consultant

Introduction

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient z/OS Core Consultant to join our team.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in IBM Z technologies, high availability solutions, and

strong client-facing communication skills. This role involves leading critical projects, architecting robust

infrastructures, and delivering expert guidance to our customers.

Your role and responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of IBM Z projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes and client satisfaction.
• Architect and plan complex z/OS infrastructures for customer data centers, focusing on high availability and disaster recovery.
• Provide expert consultation and guidance on z/OS High Availability technologies, including Parallel Sysplex, GRS, Coupling Facilities, and Sysplex Failure Management.
• Implement and manage Copy Services technologies such as Metro Mirror, Global Mirror, z/OS Global Mirror, and FlashCopy Software replication.
• Conduct detailed requirements analysis, develop comprehensive documentation, and deliver professional report presentations to customers and executives.
• Lead and facilitate technical workshops for groups of up to 20+ participants, effectively conveying complex technical information.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, provide technical solutions, and maintain strong professional relationships.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of best practices in z/OS environments.
• Perform z/OS operating system and software systems programming (sysprog) tasks, including Installation, customization, maintenance, and performance tuning.
• Manage and troubleshoot z/OS software products and utilities.
• Configuring and customizing GDPS® functional capabilities
• Designing and customizing NetView automation, REXX and JCL to support IBM GDPS® environment.
• Assisting with customer IBM GDPS® deployment testing
• Providing technical guidance and skills transfer to customer personnel for IBM GDPS® related topics.
• Producing planning and implementation reports and documentation.

Required technical and professional expertise

15+ years of hands-on experience with:

• z/OS High Availability technology and capabilities, including Parallel Sysplex, GRS,
• Coupling Facilities, and Sysplex Failure Management.
• z/VM system programming or Linux on z Systems administration.
• Copy Services technology, including Metro Mirror, Global Mirror, z/OS Global Mirror, and FlashCopy Software replication.
• Successfully delivering IBM Z projects and/or architecting and planning infrastructures for customer data centers.

10+ years' experience working with:

• z/OS High Availability technology and capabilities including Parallel Sysplex (eg: GRS, Coupling Facilities and Sysplex Failure Management)

• z/VM system programming or Linux on z Systems administration

• Copy Services technology including Metro Mirror, Global Mirror and z/OS Global Mirror (plus FlashCopy Software replication

• Successfully delivering IBM Z projects and/or architecting and planning infrastructures for customer's data centers

8+ years' experience in:

• Customer or executive facing communications, requirements analysis, documentation, and report presentations.

• Networking skills especially TCP/IP knowledge

• Tivoli System Automation and/or NetView

• Storage management experience using DFSMS

• Ability to lead customer technical workshops up to 20+ people.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• English: Fluent

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Knowledge or experience with GDPS®, PPRC and DR solution design and procedures
• Practical SMP/E knowledge
• Assembler, JCL, REXX and CLIST knowledge
• Basic RACF knowledge
