In this role, you will be responsible for shaping content strategy to create the best experience for automating and simplifying z applications.
You'll work directly with a cross-functional team to tackle complex business challenges alongside other creators and strategists. You have a passion to learn more about our technology stack to improve the client experience. You are a systematic thinker, able to see the big picture but also enjoy diving deep into important details.

Your role and responsibilities
What you will do
Design and develop technical information as part of the thriving content development team in the zOS portfolio. Drive a joined-up experience that helps our users to work with our products. The roadmap for the zOS is modern and exciting - and great user content is a huge part of that. This is not a traditional docs role. Our technical content team is leading the way in IBM through our passion and dedication to being more than that. We own the technical content experience for our users and, along with the other team members, the successful applicant will help us continue to transform this experience.
- Be part of a collaborative model where Product Management, Design, Development, Go To Market, and Technical Content work together to ensure content is designed as part of the user experience from the beginning, not as an after-thought.
- Create clear, concise, and relevant technical content that helps users to achieve their goals.
- Apply design thinking principles to design content and collaborate with stakeholders from across the product.
- Gather information from a broad range of resources and synthesize and develop in to required deliverables.
- Create and curate content assets independently according to content plans.
- 8+ years of experience in developing content for software or hardware products

- Ability to write accurate, clear, and concise documentation for global audience.
- Ability to design, develop, edit, and produce accurate and effective technical documentation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across remote teams and time zones.
- Ability to work with Subject matter experts and understand technical concepts.
- Experience with XML or DITA tagging languages.
- Ability to quickly adapt and learn new skills.
- Ability to gather data, draw insights and problem solve.
Preferred technical and professional experience
• Ability to use and contribute to shared source repositories such as GitHub.
• Ability to leverage IBM Design Thinking practices.
• Experience with Agile software development lifecycle.
• Familiar with DevOps and a variety of software engineering concepts
• Familiar with working within user interfaces
• Familiar working with product help systems and help plugins
• Produce and update visual assets, including vector graphics and diagrams.
• Proficiency with design software such as Figma or Adobe Illustrator.
