The successful candidate will work directly with his team and various teams within IBM Hybrid Cloud to ensure the stability and availability of the Cloud Object Storage offering. The position requires a bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area. The candidate has to be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures related to Cloud technologies. They also rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Able and willing to perform a variety of tasks to ensure the success of the project. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

• Observability, system and service performance analysis and tuning

• Developing automation that improves deployment speed and service reliability

• Continuous delivery using tools such as Travis, Jenkins, Ansible, and Kubernetes

Use internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects

Ensure their assigned projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget

Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility

Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques

Report and escalate to management as needed

Manage the relationship with the client teams and all stakeholders

Perform risk management to minimize project risks

Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors

Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

Meet with peer teams to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project

Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals

Use and continually develop leadership skills

Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency

Perform other related duties as assigned

Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs

Your role and responsibilities

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will work in an agile, collaborative environment to build, deploy, configure, and maintain systems for the IBM client business. In this role, you will lead the problem resolution process for our clients, from analysis and troubleshooting, to deploying the latest software updates & fixes.

Your primary responsibilities include:

24x7 Observability: Be part of a worldwide team that monitors the health of production systems and services around the clock, ensuring continuous reliability and optimal customer experience.

Cross-Functional Troubleshooting: Collaborate with engineering teams to provide initial assessments and possible workarounds for production issues. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues effectively.

Deployment and Configuration: Leverage Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools to deploy services and configuration changes at enterprise scale.

Security and Compliance Implementation: Implementing security measures that meet or exceed industry standards for regulations such as GDPR, SOC2, ISO 27001, PCI, HIPAA, and FBA.

Maintenance and Support: Tasks related to applying Couchbase security patches and upgrades, supporting Cassandra and Mongo for pager duty rotation, and collaborating with Couchbase Product support for issue resolution.

This will be a shift rotation position - You will work Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday rotation.

Required technical and professional expertise

• A rigorous approach to problem-solving

• A strong preference for collaborative teamwork

• The ability to pick up new technologies quickly and rapidly deep dive

• Experience with cloud computing technologies such as AWS, VMware, Azure, and/or IBM Cloud

• Programming skills - scripting, Go, Python, Java, or similar

• Must be proficient in writing, debugging, and maintaining automation, scripts and code (ie, Bash, Ansible, and Python, Java or Golang)

Preferred technical and professional experience

Preferred Skills:

• Demonstrated experience with Kubernetes

• Demonstrated experience with some or all of GitHub, Perl, Go, Java and Python
