Introduction
The Client Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of technical experts who provide support to clients and technical field teams. The role is accountable for the overall success and execution of the Client Engineering squad in the local Market/Country. The Client Engineering Manager is expected to build an inclusive and technically eminent culture for deeply skilled, technical practitioners to flourish. The manager will stay current on IBM strategy and technology solutions, and leverage tools to drive user-centric solutions of complex technical problems.
Your role and responsibilities
- Manage the intake and staffing of projects.
- Coach and develop a multidisciplinary squad.
- Establish relationships with IBM sales, technical leaders, and the client at assigned team accounts.

- Attend key playbacks and checkpoints to support Client Engineering execution.
- Identify and scale successful client buying and adoption patterns and use cases.
- Lead team to reuse assets and contribute to asset creation.
- Build relationships and co-innovate with other technical teams (Expert Labs, SWAT, other Client
Engineering teams) to broaden knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Gain business insights by continuous data collection and effective tooling and analytics.
Required education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
- Proven experience driving strategic and tactical direction for cross-functional teams, exhibiting
leadership and effective communications skills.
- Ability to coach client/Client Engineering co-execution teams in Client Engineering principles and
best practices.
- Understanding of Hybrid Cloud technologies and strategy - including IBM's OCP, Cloud Pak, Services
strategy - and how they bring value to clients and end-users.
- Proven ability to handle client discussions providing an IBM Point of View leading to engagements.
- Effective performance management in driving a high-performance team including development of
skills and supporting seller career aspirations.
- Results-oriented with consistent success in meeting Objectives & Key Results (OKRs).
