Your role and responsibilities
As a Business Analyst Intern within the Technical Lifecycle Support (TLS) division, you'll serve as a link between IT, business, and finance teams. Your role will focus on analyzing key business processes and providing insights that drive decision-making across the organization. Typical examples of the deliverables are functional and non-functional requirements, use-cases, process models, and impact analysis.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with the Performance Management team to track and analyze elemental spend recorded in the IBM ledger.
- Supporting cost, revenue, and gross profit analysis across offerings and segments.
- Developing monthly department operating cost reports.
- Learning the data structures and systems behind ledger entries and data feeds.
- Assisting management with portfolio health tracking.
- Reporting on monthly I/T, RESO, and Allocations spending, as well as tracking Cost Take-Out (CTO) initiatives.
- Reconciling cost and revenue elements to prevent gross profit (GP) leakage and orphaned costs.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve account-level GP discrepancies.
Required education
High School Diploma/GED
Preferred education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with query writing or experience using Business Intelligence tools, for data analysis.
- Understanding of financial principles and concepts.
- Strong business communication skills.
