Your role and responsibilities

The IBM Client Innovation Centre CIC occupies a unique position in the IT marketplace - at the intersection of business and technology. In this role, you'll work in our IBM Client Innovation Center (CIC), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

As an Associate SAP Application Developer, you will be able to:

Work with functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

Participate in system upgrades, patches, and technical performance tuning.

Provide technical documentation and ensure adherence to development standards.

Support testing activities (unit, integration, and user acceptance testing).

Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.

Stay up to date with the SAP technology advancements and best practices.

Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration with existing systems and applications.

SAP is a multinational software corporation that develops enterprise software to manage business operations and customer relations. IBM is a premier SAP business partner with a large team located at our Halifax, Calgary and Montreal locations.

Since 2013 our SAP practice has nurtured the careers of our new graduates from entry level independent consultants to roles in leadership positions. You will have support from multiple years of previous new graduates who have grown their careers within the IBM SAP practice and can provide mentorship. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented SAP Technical consultant to join our team in Halifax & Calgary. SAP Practice has grown to 300+ SAP Professionals across Halifax, Calgary and Montreal CIC locations.

Required education

Bachelor's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

Required Qualifications:

Eligibility to work in Canada without future visa sponsorship (valid work permit, permanent residency, or Canadian citizenship).

Willingness to live and work in Calgary, AB.

Preferred Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, or a related field

Core Competencies:

Able to work in an Agile, collaborative environment to understand requirements, design, code and test innovative applications, and support those applications for our highly valued customers. You have strong excel skills and enjoy making meaningful evaluations of a given set of data tables, excel files etc.

Work in a team environment with team members of a diverse background and skill set along with being comfortable working on your own to complete individual assigned tasks.

Exposure to SAP BTP, OData services, SAP UI5, Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) and SAP Fiori development tools and technologies.

Knowledge of compliance regulations & Industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

You have basic knowledge or hands on experience in one or more of the following technology areas: Microsoft Office Suite, JIRA, DevOps, Adobe.

Additional Skills:

Familiarity with agile methods and scrum frameworks

You enjoy working with the public and have demonstrated excellent customer experience skills. You will have demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to communicate with multiple levels of management and executives.

Strong analytical and problem-solving ability

Effective communication and teamwork

Curiosity and eagerness to learn emerging tools/tech
