Your role and responsibilities
Application Developer, IBM Corporation, Armonk, NY and various unanticipated client sites through the US (Up to 60% telecommuting permitted):
- Coordinate with the business area and IT team, collect business requirements, investigate problems, and propose solutions.
- Prepare System Functional Design documents for the IT team to ensure development of the application as per the business requirements.
- Design and develop the application and reporting solution by creating the Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL) using Informatica for data warehousing.
- Develop batch jobs and online screens using COBOL and CICS both on an ad hoc basis and canned schedules.
- Develop system health check alerts using UNIX scripting to implement optimization techniques.
- Perform Data Management and Governance by extracting data from Oracle and Flat files using Informatica.
- Create documentation for test strategy documents, business requirement test scenarios, and defect reports.
- Coordinate application deployment and support activities.
- Prepare project status reports for the Client Manager on a daily and weekly basis.
- Support during Technical go-live and Business go-live of interfaces.
- Create various types of reports like Summary Reports, Matrix Reports, Joined Reports, and Tabular Reports for the organization to display only records that meet the criteria.
- Perform peer review of analysis documents, test results, and provider reports.
- Develop various automated tools using REXX, Clist, ISPF macros, WinAutomation to reduce manual reporting tasks.
- Evaluate and coordinate resolutions of environment-related issues with the Systems team as part of the Agile framework.
- Utilize: COBOL (Common Business Oriented Language), JCL (Job Control Language), CICS (Customer Information Control System), VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method), DB2, CA- Endeavor, EAZYTRIEVE.
Required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master's degree) and one (1) year of experience as an Application Developer or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing COBOL, JCL, CICS , VSAM , DB2, CA- Endeavor, EAZYTRIEVE. $167835 to $197400 per year. Full time. V217.
