In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
Your role and responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable and secure digital banking platforms.
- Work closely with Digital Banking Vendors like Lending Management product etc.
- Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications on OpenShift, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Provide technical leadership in the development of microservices-based architectures using Java/J2EE technologies.
- Work closely with product teams, business stakeholders, and other architects to define technical requirements and align them with business goals.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, cloud architecture, and DevOps for digital banking solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate core banking systems with external services, APIs, and third-party solutions.
- Ensure the robustness and security of applications, including adherence to financial industry regulations and standards.
- Mentor junior developers and guide them through complex problem-solving and technical challenges.
- Perform code reviews and ensure the overall quality of solutions by applying best practices in software development.
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks to keep the platform innovative and competitive.
- Provide hands-on support and troubleshooting for complex issues in a production environment

Required technical and professional expertise
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, Proven experience as a Digital Banking Architect, Solutions Architect, or similar role in the financial services industry.
- Strong expertise in OpenShift for deploying, managing, and scaling applications in cloud environments, Deep knowledge of Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, and related Java-based technologies.
- Experience in designing and implementing microservices architectures and RESTful APIs.
- Expert in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes, Strong understanding of security best practices, including data protection and secure transactions in a banking context, Hands-on experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and message queuing systems (e.g., Kafka)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in Agile development methodologies and tools.
- Knowledge of Lending space will be preferable
