Humana's Corporate Strategy team is a high-performing organization that works closely with senior leaders to help chart the course for the company's future. In Strategy, you will identify and analyze exciting new growth opportunities and work with business leaders to prioritize strategic investments and execute strategic transformation. "Strategy Operations" is one of a three teams within the Strategy organization, which also includes the Corporate Development and Strategy Planning functions. The Strategy Operations team provides consulting services to Humana's lines of business on a project basis. As a member of this team, you will help senior executives advance and operationalize their strategies and solve complex business problems.

The Corporate Strategy Consultant role is modeled after top-tier management consultancies. As such, day-to-day activities will include developing industry analysis, building high-level financial/business modeling, conducting qualitative analysis (e.g. informational interviews) and synthesizing strategic options to create executive-level deliverables and recommendations for Humana's senior leaders and Board. In addition, you will also have the ability to work across the other teams in Strategy Operations (e.g. to support acquisition integration) and the wider Corporate Strategy department (e.g. work with Corporate Development to operationalize due diligence).

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated experience with Lean and Six Sigma or similar process improvement methodologies
  • Execute work assignments involving complex business issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of key drivers.
  • Participate in strategic problem-solving efforts by helping leaders define key issues, develop hypotheses and design recommendations/solutions
  • Support cross-functional projects, working with leaders throughout the company to execute complex, high-priority strategic initiatives
  • Draft process maps, identify pain points and opportunities to streamline processes
  • Develop business cases, value analysis and roadmaps for key initiatives
  • Identify the short & long-term impacts of key strategies by assessing qualitative and quantitative data

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with a strong record of academic achievement
  • 2-4 years of full-time work experience in strategy consulting, corporate/business unit strategy, or data / business analysis
  • Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to perform complex quantitative and qualitative analyses
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills, including understanding of financial concepts
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong record of leadership in a work setting and in extracurricular activities
  • Highly collaborative, flexible, teamwork oriented working style
  • Commitment to professional and personal growth
  • Working location are Louisville, KY or Arlington, VA (Washington, DC metro area), may consider relocation package with a Home/Office Hybrid work style

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate-level relevant degree (e.g. Business, Public Health, Finance, Data Science, Data Analytics, etc.)
  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Management consulting experience preferred
  • Experience with Lean and Six Sigma or similar process improvement methodologies
  • Familiarity design thinking principles

Location:

Louisville, KY or Washington, DC. The Corporate Strategy team follows a hybrid model, working together in the office 2-3 days per week.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$93,000 - $128,000 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
