Hudson River Trading (HRT) is looking for a Solutions Architect to join the Trading Systems Infrastructure team. We build and maintain trading infrastructure hyper-optimized for low-latency starting from the bare metal, on premise and in the cloud. Our trading strategies run worldwide 24/7.
We need a highly skilled Solutions Architect focusing on AWS for our dynamic team. This is a critical role for us to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions on our AWS Linux crypto trading platform.
Responsibilities:
- Own, standardize, and implement the technical requirements of high frequency crypto trading systems in the AWS cloud based on the business needs for performance and reliability.
- Integrate seamlessly with the existing systems on premise and in the cloud.
- Use Python to develop automation scripts and tools to support this effort.
- Use Terraform and Salt (we are committed to IaC) to ensure platform consistency and scalability.
- Optimize bare metal performance, both on premise and in cloud environments.
- Explore and apply network latency optimization techniques.
- Enlist and support internal teams throughout the implementation process.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven deep experience as a Solutions Architect with a focus on AWS, in a high frequency trading environment or equivalent performance focused role.
- Very strong in Linux system administration and system engineering.
- Proficiency in Python programming for automation and scripting tasks.
- Strong experience with Terraform and Salt (or equivalent tooling) for convergent infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
- Strong experience with managing hardware components
- Strong AWS and on-premise application-side networking experience
- Communication skills are key to be successful in this role
Pluses:
- Proven experience with AWS internals
- AWS certification(s) such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- Strong knowledge of other cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure.
- Deep understanding of financial markets and trading systems.
