Risk Manager, IT

Dublin, Ireland

Hudson River Trading is hiring a Risk Manager with a strong background in technology risk management to join our Risk team. This role is based in our Dublin office.

As a Risk Manager, you will be responsible for providing guidance on enterprise frameworks and methodologies that relate to technology controls. You’ll develop ongoing technology risk reporting, monitoring key trends and defining metrics to regularly measure control effectiveness. 

This role will report to the EU Risk Lead and work closely with Information Technology (IT) leadership to secure information and create and implement strategies to continually assess and identify potential risk. Additionally, the role will focus on ensuring risks are appropriately mitigated through policies, procedures, training, systems, and controls. The ideal candidate has experience implementing regulatory legislation such as DORA and/or the EU AI Act as well as a deep knowledge of computer systems.

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential regulatory and non-regulatory IT risks through ongoing risk assessments with relevant business leads
  • Assist in finding practical and cost-effective solutions to identified security and risk issues, and evaluate alternative means of reducing the firm’s exposure
  • Advise other teams on r operational resilience and BCP/disaster recovery
  • Actively engage in end-to-end risk remediation planning, resolution, and monitoring activities
  • Assist with technology risk reporting operations, including scheduling key monthly meetings, monitoring key milestones, escalating past due activities, problem triage and management, and archiving key monthly artifacts for audit purposes
  • Lead the IT Business Process Improvement and contribute to the review of internal processes and activities, identifying potential opportunities for improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (information technology, computer science, information security, or a related field)
  • 6 + years of experience in similar position in consulting, banking, or a related field
  • Familiar with applicable financial regulations and how they impact information technology departments
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in complex, comprehensive projects and initiatives
  • Experience creating, preparing,  and presenting MI Dashboard, and reporting on KRIs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex IT risks in simple business terms
  • CISSP, CISA, and CRISC certifications
