About AIMS Martek
Our AIMS (AI Marketing Solutions) team within the Marketing Technology group impacts HubSpot's growth by developing cutting-edge AI solutions that drive marketing effectiveness. As a highly visible team, we develop both customer-facing and internal HubSpot solutions while working closely with partners across the marketing organization.

About the Role
As a Senior AI Engineer on the AIMS (AI in Marketing Solutions) team, you'll combine deep technical expertise with exceptional communication skills to drive HubSpot's AI innovation in marketing. This role bridges the gap between cutting-edge AI engineering and real-world marketing applications, requiring both technical excellence and business acumen.
You'll architect and build AI solutions that transform how our marketing teams operate, helping them become more effective through intelligent automation, data-driven insights, and novel AI approaches. Working at the intersection of software engineering and artificial intelligence, you'll design and implement systems that unlock new capabilities for both our internal teams and our customers.
The ideal candidate brings strong software engineering fundamentals, practical AI/ML experience, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders. You'll partner closely with marketing leaders, product teams, data scientists, and other engineering groups to identify opportunities, design solutions, and drive implementation.
This role offers the opportunity to shape HubSpot's AI strategy while delivering tangible impact through the systems you build. You'll be empowered to research emerging technologies, propose innovative approaches, and see your ideas through from conception to production. Your work will directly influence how HubSpot leverages AI to help millions of organizations grow better.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop high-quality software design and cloud-based architecture for AI solutions
- Lead R&D (research and development) efforts to meet the needs of our AI strategy
- Work on functional design, process design (including scenario design, flow mapping), prototyping, testing, training, and defining support procedures
- Intake and prioritize ideas from across the business to identify the most potentially impactful AI solutions
- Gather requirements and set goals for AI initiatives, leading the design and architecture through to implementation
- Manage various stakeholders and their expectations, from senior marketing leaders to internal teammates and other functional partners
- Own cross-functional communication supporting projects in flight and present complex ideas and strategic recommendations to senior leaders
- Create sharable documentation to ensure consistency and scalability
- Mentor and help train other members of the team, providing technical thought leadership
- Help to guide the team in all things AI and become an early adopter of new technologies
Skills and Requirements:
- [REQUIRED] 5+ years of software development or equivalent technical experience
- [REQUIRED] 2+ years of experience in applying Generative AI to practical and comprehensive technology solutions
- [REQUIRED] Experience with marketing technology (e.g., workflow automation tools, CDPs, CRMs, Data Warehouses)
- [REQUIRED] Experience with web services APIs and cloud services (AWS, GCP or Azure)
- [REQUIRED] Experience in REST API development, database design, and AI infrastructure
- [REQUIRED] Experience with version control in a team setting (GIT)
- Experience with testing strategies, including unit testing and E2E testing
- Familiarity with ML, deep learning, PyTorch, Python/Node, NLP, and OpenAI
- Familiarity with vector databases, transformers, and data models
- [REQUIRED] Strong project management and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical topics to both functional and technical audiences
- Growth mindset with a love for learning and passion for AI that drives staying on the cutting edge of thought leadership

Pay & Benefits
The cash compensation below includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot's bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot's equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are tailored to your skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

Annual Cash Compensation Range:
$157,600 - $236,400 USD
