Molecular Beam Epitaxy Engineer

General Description:
Become a member of a team that produces world's fastest GaN transistors and MMICs. Growth opportunities for enthusiastic candidates will include team development, techniques and processes to improve quality and reproducibility of epitaxial materials to support current production activities, development and fabrication of test structures to characterize epi, development of new epi metrology techniques and cross-correlation of MMIC device performance with epi characteristics, etc, supporting both mature and research-level device technologies.

Essential Duties:
Operate Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) and/or Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) systems used to deposit the world's fastest GaN transistors.

Perform epitaxial layer characterization, perform epi-associated wafer fabrication functions, and develop new epi recipes.
Perform regular maintenance of the epitaxy systems and supporting equipment (Rouging Pumps, Cryo pumps, Turbo pumps) with the help of others during maintenance campaigns.
Tool ownership (i.e. operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, inventory, spares etc.) is required.
Support new and existing programs that require research-level processes to be developed.

Required Skills:
This is an entry level position. Candidates with relevant experience will be given higher consideration.
The job requires identifying and solving complex GaN MBE-and MOCVD-related problems, generating key technical reports, and employing analytical methods to solve technical problems.
Basic familiarity with semiconductor materials engineering and characterization techniques is desired.
Familiarity with epi growth tools such as MOCVD and MBE is a plus; familiarity with ultra-high vacuum (UHV) hardware and good UHV practices is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills with good mechanical aptitude and strong organizational skills
Ability to work well in a creative team environment, possess excellent communication skills, and have willingness to train / mentor others
Ability to work effectively with others and individually

Required Education:
B. Sc. or M. Sc in Science or Engineering

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform tasks safely in a lab environment and be able to climb and work on ladders
Ability to lift and move small to moderate sized parts during maintenance cycles

Special Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship status required

Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $120,715 - $150,895 + bonus + benefits.
