About The Role

The Rooftop at Pier 17 Summer 2024 Marketing Associate will be based at the Seaport in Lower Manhattan. Primary duties will focus on the annual Summer Concert Series that is hosted on The Rooftop at Pier 17 and marketing, but the role may also include special projects across multiple departments including operations, strategic partnerships, and community events. This role is an opportunity to see behind the scenes of concert operations and to integrate into event management at an award-winning entertainment venue in New York City.

What You Will Do
  • Support the marketing team towards the annual Summer Concert Series on The Rooftop at Pier 17 which includes, but is not limited to:
    • Being onsite for select concerts (evening & weekend hours) to assist in event related duties such as capturing social media content, auditing and scheduling LED signage, liaising with media & PR team, assisting with ticket operations, supporting guest services and more.
    • Assisting with social media planning, strategy and content creation for venue's social channels.
    • Evaluating and aiding the concert guest experience.
    • Conducting industry research, which includes artist/band research, marketplace competition evaluations, venue and guest trends, sales analysis, and more.
    • Attending meetings related to the Summer Concert Series, as well as potentially take notes to distribute recaps to attendees.
    • Building marketing plans for individual concerts, along with promoting the overarching series, ensuring brand consistency across materials (owned assets, digital, out-of-home).
    • Gathering information needed for presentations, such as data metrics, survey responses, past performance information, photos, event descriptions, etc.
  • Assisting with other projects which may include community programming, research & analysis, digital marketing initiatives, tourism initiatives, and external partnership building.
  • Interact with, and learn from, local leadership and various departments (marketing, operations, sponsorships, accounting).

About You
  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
  • Previous experience and/or interest in the Music, Sports or Entertainment industries is a plus.
  • Excellent social media content knowledge and skills.
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic knowledge of PowerPoint and/or Keynote.
  • Proactive with creative problem-solving approach. Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work well with others, from peers to senior leadership. Conducts themselves professionally with internal & external clients.
  • Proficient in video editing software such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects or preferred program towards producing social media content.
  • Working knowledge of design software such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and/or Photoshop is a plus.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The Summer Associate Program is structured to accommodate in-person/hybrid participants, which will be determined by the company's safety protocol at the time of participation. Barring any required restrictions, in-person hours will be expected for at least portion of hours. The program will be based at the Seaport office in Lower Manhattan, NY.

The Summer Associate will begin in May/June and end in September/October. The Summer Associate Program provides competitive wages for top talent.
