About the role

Howard Hughes is seeking a highly motivated communications expert to join our dynamic corporate team as a Director, Corporate Communications. The individual in this position will help spearhead and implement corporate communications strategies, content creation, thought leadership development, and marketing initiatives to drive brand awareness for Howard Hughes. Reporting to the SVP, Head of Corporate Communications, this role will help ensure our corporate and regional communication initiatives align with company business objectives. This role will work in close collaboration with regional marketing and various corporate teams to support and align with the efforts of company stakeholders.

The role requires excellent communications, writing, editing, and organizational skills. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and a critical, strategic thinker, with experience across a broad spectrum of communication channels, ready to integrate into a highly driven, high-performing leadership team.

What You Will Do
  • Establishment of a Center of Excellence: Help establish and oversee a communications center of excellence by producing elevated writing and storytelling across marketing narratives, corporate reports, media pitches, and thought-leadership content that places Howard Hughes-the company, its communities, and its leadership-into notable, relevant external conversations that increase visibility and brand awareness.
  • Responsiveness to Media Opportunities & Deadlines: Demonstrate flexibility, strategic thinking, and adaptability when faced with time-sensitive corporate news items and media requests.
  • Corporate Communications Strategy & Implementation: Help drive communications across company's national portfolio, working in close collaboration with team members in various verticals including corporate marketing, national sales & leasing, and social media to amplify target narratives in service of business objectives
  • Content Development & Thought Leadership: Proactively seek out and synthesize industry trends and social research into which the company's data analytics can be integrated to produce consumable, quotable messaging to be developed into media pitches, thought-leadership pieces, and marketing campaigns.
About You
  • 7+ years of professional experience in communications or related field.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of the media landscape.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with e xperience working in a highly cross-functional or matrixed organization with a high degree of collaboration and process-driven environment.
  • A self-directed team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment; must be able to effectively manage both ambiguity and aggressive timelines for projects.
  • Must be deadline-focused, organized, and exhibit problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interact and work collaboratively with colleagues across various departments, regions, and business units across various time zones.
  • Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Cloud.
