Apprentice Building Engineer

About the Role
The Apprentice Building Engineer will participate in all mechanical operations, maintenance, communications, and energy management programs for all properties. All efforts should reinforce the quality standards, operating objectives and goals established by Howard Hughes Management Services.
What You Will Do
Program & Operations Management
- Actively participate in Energy Management, Preventive Maintenance Program, departmental plan execution, emergency response procedures, and central plant operations and maintenance, ensuring operational efficiency and safety compliance.
Budgeting & System Maintenance
- Assist in the development and management of the annual departmental budget, coordinate vendor and base building file maintenance, and ensure the proper operation and condition of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems across properties.
Safety & Tenant Relations
- Oversee life safety systems, building systems testing, completion of punch lists, response to tenant requests, and general safety procedures, including required safety training and compliance with applicable authorities having jurisdiction.

About You
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 0-5 years experience in a commercial office environment or related industry
- HVAC EPA certification preferred
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical and HVAC
- Basic knowledge of hand tolls and understanding of safety
