Hitachi Energy is a leading provider of high-voltage components, specializing in innovative solutions for the electrical utilities and the power delivery industry. As we expand our operations, we seek a dynamic and experienced Warehouse Manager to join our Grid Components team.
Position Summary:
A "Warehouse Manager" is responsible for overseeing the overall planning, organization, and operations of our local warehouse, located adjacent to the production facility in Mount Pleasant, PA. This role involves managing all distribution functions, including order processing, picking, packaging, shipping, cycle counting, and receiving, while ensuring accurate inventory levels and proper material handling procedures are followed throughout the material handling process. He/she is also responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of materials and components, as well as coordinating deliveries with the distribution center (DC).
This position will report to the Operations Manager of Power Quality Products.
Key responsibilities:
- Warehousing Strategy: Responsible for revisiting and developing the warehousing strategy for the operating units in Pennsylvania
- Business Partner to the Operating Units: Partner with the operating units by establishing service level agreements and defining processes to ensure on-time delivery of materials from the warehouse to the factories
- Inventory Management: Use modern processes to manage inventory. Establish and execute a cycle count program to ensure high levels of inventory accuracy.
- Workload Balancing: Balance workloads to achieve production and delivery goals for each shift.
- Operational Optimization: Utilize software, data, and analytics to optimize operations, track warehouse metrics, and resolve problems.
- Staff Management: Provide necessary equipment, tools, and training to staff to ensure safe, secure, and efficient operations.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulations, policies, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. Compliance with regulations:
Qualifications & Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 4+ years of experience in warehouse management, preferably within the manufacturing industry
- Understanding of warehouse operations, shipping procedures, and transportation logistics.
- Experience in working with the union employee environment.
- Expertise in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant ERP software for order processing and reporting. Knowledge of SAP S4 HANA and EWM will be required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication to interact with customers, carriers, and internal teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve shipping issues efficiently.
- Ensuring accuracy in all shipping documents and product details.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and assembly procedures.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to interact with production teams, suppliers, and other departments.
- Analytical skills to identify trends, analyze data, and make informed decisions regarding material management.
