The opportunity
We are looking for a Business Unit (BU) Transportation & Logistics (T&L) Manager plays a pivotal role in aligning and executing the global TT&L strategy within the business unit. Acting as a strategic liaison between Hitachi Energy's central TT&L organization and the BU, the manager ensures seamless collaboration with interfacing functions and drives operational excellence across all logistics activities.
As a key change agent, the T&L Manager leads the successful rollout of new projects, tools, and processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. They are responsible for implementing best practices that enhance service quality while optimizing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

How you'll make an impact
- Ensure compliance with global policies, processes, and governance for General Cargo operations not managed by the Transport Trade and Logistics CoE.
- Monitor KPIs, analyze deviations, and implement corrective actions to ensure operational excellence.
- Act as liaison to the Center of Expertise (CoE) and oversee service performance for CoE-covered operations.
- Drive awareness and support the rollout of new TT&L tools, processes, and projects through effective change management.
- Lead and develop teams by ensuring proper staffing, coaching, and succession planning in line with HR policies.
- Implement TT&L strategy, adapt global processes to local needs, and ensure alignment with business requirements.
- Identify and pursue continuous improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
- Share best practices and support end-to-end process optimization and standardization across regions.
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional initiatives to improve delivery performance, lead times, inventory, and resource utilization using Lean Six Sigma tools.
- Develop and maintain process maps, provide training, and ensure alignment with interfacing functions and policies
Your background
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management
- At least 3 years of proven leadership and people management experience
- Strong communication, influencing, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Solid knowledge of customs regulations, legal, and commercial terms
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
