The opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trade Finance Advisor - SAMEA to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert trade finance advisory services, including bank guarantees, parent company guarantees, sureties, and documentary letters of credit, during export sales contract negotiations and post- sales instrument finalization and execution.
How you'll make an impact
- Acting as a center of competence for trade finance instrument portfolio management in the SAMEA Trade Finance Hub countries, providing expert advice and risk mitigation activities both during and after the export sales contract negotiation.
- Having knowledge of local legal environments and hub frameworks, implications for trade finance instrument issuance, and expertise in specific local instruments such as sureties not an exhaustive list.
- Driving standardization of Hitachi Energy trade finance instrument wordings standard templates, bank templates, global library, promotion of the use of international standards such as URDG, UCP, ISP98.
- Trade finance instruments portfolio oversight, maintenance, and processing are carried out in accordance with local regulations and customary practices.
- Supporting the release of bank guarantee requests as part of the 4-eye principal rule for new issuance, amendment, extension or payment, claims, closing, free formats, as well as the receipt of incoming electronic messages. You also support checking and following up on the quality and content of requests as needed.
- Maintaining bank relationships by monitoring existing or requesting new global and local stand- alone credit lines.
- Supporting export and import LCs processes in the SAMEA hub countries, as well as incoming bank fee invoices reconciliation and timely bank fee payment execution in the capacity of the ETF local responsible.
- You will receive quarterly management reports, statistics on bank performance, guarantee and LC portfolios.

Your background
- Bachelor's degree in finance, banking, treasury management, or a related field.
- You have prior working experience in trade finance administration, advisory, and consultancy on guarantees and letters of credit.
- Certification in trade finance instruments (e.g CSDG, CDCS) would be considered advantageous.
- A proactive business attitude, knowledge, and understanding of local and regional rules and regulations, as well as the regional market environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as proficiency in daily interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English is required.
