Tender Business Controller

The opportunity:

Act as a business partner to the Tender manager and Capture team lead. Ensure financial performance for multiple tenders by preparing financial analyses, ensuring cost controls, providing recommendations for financial decisions, and serving as the main finance representative for assigned tenders. Work with different expertise within the financial areas to optimize the offer to the client with consciousness of the remaining risks. Collaborate with the other functions of the tender, such as lead engineer and project director to reach effective business decisions.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Ensures compliance with corporate and country standards, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Compile the total cost calculation from multiple areas and functions and thereafter transform it to a customer price.
  • Transfer the tender target price to a broken-down target cost together with Tender manager and communicate the target to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide analysis of individual cost items compared to target cost. Keep track and explain cost developments through-out the tender.
  • Compile the total contract cash flow based on input from the planning department, cost input and payment terms. Advice on activities to optimize the cash flow.
  • Support Tender Manager & Capture team leader in compiling the risk list.
  • Identify and propose mitigation actions on cash flow, exposure, foreign exchange risk by looking into areas such as payment securities, currency clauses, currency baskets.
  • Utilize the in-house expertise to find an optimized set-up between risk mitigation and an attractive offer to the client.
  • Understand and review the contract terms with special focus on commercial and financial risks and advise on appropriate mitigation actions.
  • If requested initiate the issuance of a Bid bond
  • Make the delivery understandable to the customer by translating the cost into the customer specified price sheet.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

  • Experience - 10 -12 years of project controlling.
  • Relevant Industry experience in the similar or equivalent industry with Project and/or Tender controlling background. Financial knowledge with financial Degree as basic qualification.
  • Consolidate large amount of data and make it understandable to management.
