For our research and development team at HVDC we are looking for R&D Project Manager to lead development projects focusing on application of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to HVDC . In this role as R&D Project Manager you will have an exciting opportunity to lead innovative projects and work closely with talent R&D engineers, experts, and stakeholders within a global organization. How you'll make an impact:
• Set-up and execute R&D projects together with your project team in alignment with our R&D portfolio management.
• Propose and lead research and development projects designing software for training, deploying and managing the lifecycle of Machine Learning Solutions for the next generations of products and systems
• You will be involved in capturing requirements, running pre-studies, the development of cutting-edge technologies and products, verification, documentation and to productize the development results.
• In your projects, you are responsible for budget, planning, executing, milestones, releases and reporting/informing about status, forecasts and when changes do occur.
• You also may drive business development initiatives together with product management.
• Close collaboration with other development teams, Manufacturers , Testing facilities, Stakeholders, Product Owners, Line management etc. will be essential.
• As R&D Project Manager you will be a part of R&D Project Management Office and contribute to continuous improvement of project execution methods and processes.

Your background:
• Master's or PhD degree or equivalent industrial experience in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or any related field.
• Experience leading Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and/or Data Science projects which solve practical problems.
• Experience with training and deploying and managing the lifecycle of Machine Learning algorithms in practical settings.
• Ability to coordinate all phases of a software project - conceptual work, architecture preparation, design, prototyping and verification.
• You have great leadership qualities.
• To thrive in this position, you are a good team player, structured, open-minded, communicative and able to lead geographically dispersed teams in multi-site global environment.
• Proficient in English since you will be part of an international setting where you will get to exchange knowledge with people globally.
• Most important, as a person you have a passion for people and technology.
• Knowledge and experience from HVDC technology and/or R&D Development. Preferably within areas like HVDC, Electronics, Mechanics, Electrical, Simulations, Testing or Digitalization
• Experience with Data Science Programming Languages (Python and associated data science libraries) and Deep Learning Frameworks (Tensorflow, PyTorch); Machine Learning topics related to Robustness, Interpretability & Explainability, Uncertainty Modeling, Causal inference, Generative AI and LLMs; Cloud, IoT and/or Edge systems and with container and microservice architectures, and High-Performance Computing.
