Tax Manager

General information:

Act as tax subject matter expert and provide tax expertise to Hitachi Energy Group in the area of capital structures, legal structures, cross-border reorganizations, transfer pricing, intra- group arrangements, contracting issues, indirect tax issues, tax accounting and reporting or any other tax matters as well as tax strategies that reflect overall strategy and global initiatives.

Your responsibilities:

• You will provide tax expertise in the defined tax area to ensure compliance with local and international tax laws and regulations, act as internal tax advisor in complex tax matters and coordinate resolution of tax issues.
• You will identify tax planning opportunities and risks of non-compliance, propose measures to mitigate risk and obtains support from peers, Group Function Heads and Country/Region management in implementing the measures, facilitate knowledge transfer, training activities and best practice sharing in the defined tax practice area.
• You will oversee all tax accounting and reporting activities within the scope of own tax practice/area of responsibility, ensure correct tax numbers and disclosures in the quarterly and annual reports and financial statements of the Hitachi Energy Group, including sign-off by the Group auditors.
• You will liaise with Tax Authorities and similar in negotiation/dealing regionally/locally in tax policy matters within defined tax practice (including transfer pricing for goods and services, contracting business, merger and acquisition, intra-group arrangements, tax accounting and reporting, HR taxes, indirect taxes, financing and tax litigation/planning projects).
• You will ensure that internal controls over financial reporting processes are designed and performed effectively and efficiently in the respective areas of responsibility.

• Bachelors in commerce or financial accounting.
• Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience.
• Big 4 experience Is a Plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
