The opportunity
In this role you drive excellence in quality, delivery, and compliance for the supply base. Furthermore, you ensure global processes are understood and implemented by the SCM network. As Suppplier Quality Expert - Metal Components (steel structures, Al/ Cu welded parts, contacts) you will work closely with Hitachi Energy High Voltage Supply Chain, Technical Center, Group Product Service Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and the Global SCM team on all activity required to effectively support supplier quality requirements for assigned High Voltage commodities and suppliers.
How you'll make an impact
- Develop and lead PPAP qualification plans, process/product verification, and supplier surveillance programs
- Participate in supplier technical review meetings, approval processes, and internal product introduction processes
- Drive process optimization using statistical methodologies to improve critical quality characteristics
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement Failure Mode & Effect Analysis for process improvement and corrective actions
- Reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) by integrating customer and factory feedback into supplier processes
- Support SQEs, product engineering, and key suppliers in achieving industry-leading standards
- Lead global quality initiatives, failure analyses, and special projects for steel structures and welded aluminum/copper components
- Plan and conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with global quality requirements
- Collaborate closely with Category Teams to implement strategies and support supplier selection, classification, and development

Your background
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical field from an accredited university or college
- Fluent English - capable to lead technical conference calls, read drawings and procedures in English
- 7+ year previous experience in Supplier Quality or Manufacturing Process Quality (preferably with Steel structures, welded parts )
- Ability to work in cross functional and global team environments
- Ability and willingness to travel 40% as required
- Lean Six Sigma trained ( green / black belt ) and certified or equivalent quality training and certification
