Join Hitachi Energy's global legal team as a (Senior) Legal Counsel
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated (Senior) Legal Counsel to join our Center of Expertise Contracts and Litigation, part of Hitachi Energy's global Legal and Integrity Department.
In this role, you will be exposed to a variety of global legal matters and projects, with opportunities to work on challenging and demanding tasks. You will, in particular, play an important role in our litigation and arbitration monitoring and reporting processes and be involved in the development and creation of new tools for our department (including Generative AI Tools).
This role is part of our global legal team and is reporting to the Global Head of Contracts and Litigation. The role can be based in any major location of Hitachi Energy worldwide (office and/or remote work).

How you'll make an impact:
- Work closely with the Head of Contracts and Litigation and other colleagues in the CoE Contracts and Litigation in providing legal advice and counseling on a broad range of legal issues.
- Take ownership of the reporting and monitoring of dispute, litigation and arbitration matters at a global level.
- Support on the development and implementation of Generative AI tools for legal use cases.
- Support contract review and negotiation and get involved in our global (legal) risk management processes.
- Provide legal support to the Supply Chain organization.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of group legal strategies, directives and standards.
- Interact with external service providers, including external legal counsel.
- Participate in various local, regional, and global projects within the department.

Your background
- Graduate degree in law with several years of experience in a law firm and/or the legal department of a global (industrial) company.
- Bar admission is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Strong interest in technology and process improvement.
- Experienced in international contract law and litigation/arbitration.
- Demonstrated ability to be agile and keen to learn.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
- High level of integrity and ethical standards.
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is mandatory, other languages are an asset.
