We are looking for Senior Business Controller at Power Quality Global Center of Competence, which is a product group at Hitachi Energy. We can offer you an interesting and challenging role in an international, dynamic, and positive working environment. The job location is in Västerås, Sweden but with possibility to work part-time remotely.

Your responsibilities

• Act as a trusted Finance Business Partner to the Engineering organization, supporting managers in driving financial performance, cost efficiency, and informed decision-making.
• Participate as a member of the Engineering Management Team, providing financial insights, challenging assumptions, and promoting a strong culture of cost awareness, accountability, and business performance
• Develop and deliver financial training, guidelines, and best practices to Engineering managers and key stakeholders to strengthen financial understanding across the organization.
• Prepare and deliver financial reporting, business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management analysis on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Perform month-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy, transparency, compliance with financial policies, and thorough analysis of key variances, including foreign exchange impacts and cost developments.
• Collaborate closely with Finance leadership and support the preparation of management presentations, performance reviews, and executive reporting, ensuring high-quality financial communication and business insights.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, reporting, and analytical capabilities to increase efficiency, transparency, and data-driven decision-making.
• Support strategic initiatives, organizational changes, and transformation programs by evaluating financial impacts, building business cases, and providing decision support to management.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or similar qualifications
• +5 years of experience in area of finance and business controlling, preferably from a global company.
• Excellent accounting and analytical skills are essential.
• English, both written and spoken, is required. Swedish is considered an advantage.
• Very Good MS Excel and SAP skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, also across functional boundaries.
• Orientation on goal, proactive approach and problem-solving attitude.
