Sales Executive - Automation and Communication, Ontario and Atlantic

General Information:

Hitachi Energy is seeking an experienced Sales Executive for its Automation and Communication (AC) product group. This portfolio includes products and integrated systems for protection, control and automation, as well as wired and wireless communications technologies. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with these technologies and will be able to perform technical presentations and product-demonstrations.

The focus segments for this role are Electrical Utilities and Large industrials in Ontario and the Atlantic provinces. The Sales Executive - Automation and Communication is responsible of achieving annual sales quotas, establishing the growth strategy for the region, and building the 2-5 years pipeline.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet sales targets
  • Drive pipeline creation activities, directly and through the Front-end Sales team.
  • Establishes and maintains effective customer relationships. Understand customer needs, promote customer understanding of full product offering, and align to provide a solution. Ensures a positive customer experience throughout the sales process.
  • Drive awareness and spec position through technical discussions and product demonstrations.
  • Develop and deploy a growth strategy for the Automation and Communication portfolio in the region.
  • Identifies and drives the development of new market opportunities in the designated market and ensures know-how sharing and cross-collaboration.
  • Identify and engage with key influencers in the territory.
  • Ensures efficient marketing activities and value proposition to customers.
  • Identify and attend key conferences and tradeshows in the Country. Suggest technical paper topics to be presented by Hitachi Energy
  • Creates added value for the customer and HITACHI ENERGY and ensures the successful outcome of transactions, contracts, and proposals by using effective sales techniques.
  • Use sales tools to plan, track, and communicate plan to meet or exceed quota, including sales quote tools, Salesforce CRM, etc. Performs regular status reviews and proposes recovery plan(s) in case of potential order shortfalls.

Qualifications:

  • >10 years of technical sales experience in Protection and Control solutions
  • Demonstrated experience of successfully selling into Electrical Utilities
  • Proven success working within a matrixed organization and establishing strong relationships across all the extended sales team.
  • Ability to apply a consultative sales approach focused on value and customer outcomes to new and existing customers.
  • Strong business acumen - Requires ability to negotiate and successfully conclude deals.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Hands-on experience with AC Solutions - an asset
