Mission Statement:

The TT&L G/C Sourcing Manager Region is accountable for the transport project budgeting for G/C, ensuring availability of the transport budget in line with the requirements. He/she is managing the strategic sourcing process including the CAT CIPS Strategy development and execution. Further-more, the G/C Sourcing Manager Region is responsible for the supplier base management, ensuring proper performance in alignment with targets and supporting the resolution of potential claims or dis-putes with suppliers.

Your responsibilities:

  • Conduct transport requirement analysis based on weight and dimensions and check for suitable frame agreements and previous shipments that can be used as reference freight for benchmark of must win general cargo RFIs.
  • Accountable for the proper execution of the end-to-end RFI process for general cargo and must win general cargo RFIs and responsible to analyse results of RFI with reference freight as well as budget approval.
  • Accountable for the proper execution of the project budgeting change process for general cargo and responsible to verify calculation, approve the revised budget, and manage internal escalations as needed.
  • Accountable for the proper execution of the general cargo standard rate card implementation process and provide input in case of additional clarification needs.
  • Manage analytics by conducting SCMIS reporting and assess internal cost developments with external price developments based on high-level market information.
  • Support market intelligence report creation by providing input and content validation.
  • Manage commodity guidelines process through the analysis of market prices, calculating cost impact on future shipments and issue commodity pre-tender guidelines.
  • Establish CAT CIPS Strategy proposal for general cargo per sub-category and/or supplier based on in-depth assessment of suppliers, stakeholders, market, and category analysis.
  • Plan, implement and monitor KPIs of CAT CIPS Execution for general cargo.
  • Accountable for the proper end-to-end execution of the RFI and RFQ process for general cargo and approve award proposal subject to defined threshold.
  • Accountable for the proper execution of the additional margin negotiation for general cargo.
  • In case of escalations, accountable to evaluate of potential invoice dispute cases, or misalignment in the agreed tender-rates related to general cargo orders and negotiation with suppliers.
  • Support the supplier qualification process in SAP Ariba, including initiation of the qualification for GUID with required SQQ type, supplier communication and review of supplier input as well as finalization of SQE and SQD approval, completing qualification process, maintain CAP track list and monitor supplier performance.
  • Support the claim management process subject to the defined threshold, including verification of contractual obligations, negotiation with supplier and escalate internally if required.
  • Within the supplier performance measurement process, confirm and identify need for adjustment and commercial actions in case non-compliance with improvement targets.
  • Consult on alternatives solutions and supplier change risk, prepare alternative plan for upcoming deliveries, ensure internal communication flow and potential re-allocation of volumes and de-sourcing process.
  • Review and manage the supplier performance evaluation including the reflection of classification strategy and supplier communication.
  • Manage and own supplier classification process including assessment, maintenance in SAP Ariba.
  • Drive awareness, act as change-agent and support the successful rollout and seamless implementation of new TT&L projects, tools, and processes.
  • Pro-actively engage with interfacing functions to assess and align on potential impact due to changes within TT&L organization and operating procedures.
  • Train, support, and coach the TT&L organization on new initiatives and projects.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagements to educate business units on the level and magnitude of the change and build their desire to support the change.
  • Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly defined, organized, staffed, skilled, and directed (with HRBP support).
  • Guide, motivate, and develop direct and indirect subordinates following HR policies, and coordinate talent management and succession planning within the assigned area.
  • Lead by example, coach and mentor staff and support individuals to succeed and develop.
  • Identify and assess opportunities for individual training needs and career development.
  • Manage cascaded initiatives and ensure that directives are always adhered to TT&L strategy.
  • Communicate and drive the implementation of the TT&L strategy within the organization in close alignment and collaboration with interfacing functions.
  • Adjust global processes to business requirements and implement processes and systems according to the defined roadmap.
  • Roll out global policies and initiatives in the region and ensure execution within TT&L as well as interfacing functions as part of the defined governance model and structure.
  • Ensure the local organizations (HUB and local units) get trained and support them defining the specific local process.
  • Ensure that S&OP blueprint is defined within the BU, ensure the S&OP is implemented.
  • Ensure that S&OP meets the required standard, and a maturity improvement plan is implemented.
