R&D Senior Engineer
The opportunity
Identification, exploration and implementation of technology / product development and growth strategies to enhance and secure global positioning. Ensure project execution, foster innovation and develop and secure R&D capabilities in the business for profitability. Devising research methods, focus on future technical direction, future scenarios in transforming technology landscape. Preparing technical specifications and specifying laboratory test equipment and processes. Making recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials within budgets and targets set. May participate in intellectual property evaluations and development of patent applications. Coordinating pilot-plant or initial production runs on new products or processes. A Senior Professional (P3) applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Responsibilities may include: Managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision. Coaching and reviewing the work of lower level professionals. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex.

How you'll make an impact
- You will assume a lead engineer role in the design & development of capacitor products. You shall be able to demonstrate a strong background in know-how in polymers combined with excellent analytical and project management skills and hands-on experience with state-of-the-art design & development techniques.
- On the personal side, we are looking for someone with a technical background and knowledge of Power Quality products (Capacitor), someone that can lead with a positive mindset, analytical capabilities, and a strong drive for collaboration with teams and stakeholders to build the best possible product.
- Plan, perform and review calculation/simulations and qualification tests on various materials like polymer films.
- Participate constructively in working teams, share own technical/scientific knowledge in own projects and supports colleagues in applying processes and tools to ensure timely and high-quality results.
- Shows solid documentation skills and writes technical reports, project, and product documents independently, including doing feasibility studies as baseline for decision making.
- Conduct quality case root cause analysis with solid materials knowledge. Product harmonization, upgrades, and maintenance of capacitor products and solutions with high reliability and cost efficiency.
- Conduct design reviews, including DFMEA/DFM/DFA, perform prototyping & testing of disconnectors. Prepare design documentation (Development report, analysis report, assembly & test instruction, test specification, etc.).
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background
- Degree (B. Tech. / M. Tech.) in Electrical engineering / Polymer technology with relevant of 10 years+ of experience in high voltage switchgear design and development.
- Product knowledge of HV equipment / capacitors. Preferred hands-on experience with 3D model/PLM tools like Creo 4.0, Windchill, and SAP.
- Background and experience in the manufacturing industry. Preferred hands-on experience in FEA tools - electrical simulation tools.
- Preferred hands-on experience in drawing, BOM, GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis. Knowledge of product change management process.
- Leadership skills with a proven track-record of Management or Project management.
- Confidence to conduct Root-Cause-Analyses on product failures and to provide feedback to higher Management.
- Knowledge and understanding of various IEC / IEEE / ANSI / IS / ISO / DIN / IP / NEMA standards is preferred.
- Ability to work in a global environment. Innovative & creative thinking ability, problem solving ability.
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required
