How you'll make an impact

  • You will lead the project team, establish the project execution approach and oversee project hand-over, execution planning, and monitoring and control activities for both internal and external resources to accomplish all project goals, jointly with Project Control department, define all project plan documents, including scope and financial plans, schedule and risk management plans.
  • You will ensure project follows execution best practices and Hitachi Energy's policies, effectively monitor, control project progress and efficient resource utilization, monitor project progress and regularly analyzes project critical paths to ensure all critical path activities, project milestones are progressed to the plan, notify Project Director of any deviations or scheduling issues and implement actions for optimizing resources.
  • You will do issue progress reports, project update and productivity data on a regular basis, prepare materials for and delivers project reviews, conduct analysis of plan versus actual project performance under the supervision of the Project Director, monitor and control project financials, overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expense and cash flow and monitor, control and release requests for invoicing, based on project payment milestones.
  • You will identify, qualify, quantify and manage project risks, ensure that all opportunities are identified and pursued, capture, analyze and share lessons learned throughout the project, ensure the project is formally closed out, as contractually agreed, drive the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out and its acknowledgement by the customer.
  • You will ensure the project consistently apply contract and claim management, in accordance with Hitachi Energy policies and contractual agreements, coordinate with Supply Chain Management and successfully procures all required services, materials and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers, support Supply Chain Management in supplier negotiation, claim and project change.
  • You will be the key contact for the customer and an escalation point for project issues, build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicate with all stakeholders, monitor and maintain various project registers - e.g. project transmittal register, issues & actions register, risk and opportunities register, deliverable & quality register, documentation register, etc. effectively communicate appropriate information to project team, customers and other stakeholders in a timely manner and to achieve desired understanding.
  • You will ensure the project follows and complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies, safe working procedures and practices are followed at all times including the wearing and maintenance of assigned Personal Protective Equipment as required, attendance at required health, safety and environment training, report injury, incidents, hazards and near miss events, model safe work behaviors in all aspects of work and actively identify hazards and risk controls, coach and provide feedback for project staff.
  • You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • You hold bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably from a vendor environment involved in enterprise software.
  • Strong verbal and written Japanese and English skills
  • Three to five years of experience in a similar role like Project Manager capacity.
  • Project management training and certifications - e.g. PMI, PRINCE2.PMP is highly desired.
  • Proficient with MS Word and MS Excel; Proficient maintaining schedules for projects using recognized project scheduling tools.
  • Proficient organizer, ability to influence and coordinate stakeholders.
  • Good stakeholder management with an executive presence.
  • Able to manage up internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good command of English communication.
