We are hiring a Project Manager Engineering to join our team in Rotterdam for our Business Unit Grid Integration. You work on different technical solutions, test new ideas in engineering and cooperate with internal stakeholders to improve our state-of-the-art project solution. This is a hybrid role, where you can work both from your home-office and our office in Rotterdam.
Your responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Provide technical support for tendering and execution of customer projects. Prepare bill of quantities for engineered items. Participates in project review meetings.
- Technical Leadership: Serve as the technical lead for substations. Develop power supply system architecture and perform sizing calculations for substation systems.
- Project Management: Manage and lead all engineering activities of the project or tender. Create work plans and cost estimates for engineering tasks. Coordinate with internal and external partners and sub-suppliers.
- Collaboration: Work closely with sales and tender management, project management, project site installation and commissioning teams. Lead and attend discussions with customers, handle site queries, and take necessary actions.
- Procurement Coordination: Prepare specifications, check supplier offers, and coordinate with supply chain management for procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
- Risk and Opportunity Management: Support risk assessments and report potential risks. Conduct Safety Observation tours to report potential Health, Safety, and Environment hazards.
- Customer Interaction: Coordinate site activities for customer acceptance and provide relevant information.
- Mentorship: Assist apprentices, entry-level engineers, technicians, and support teams with design questions.

Your background:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5 years of experience in power systems engineering, in utility/ industrial High & Medium Voltage substations.
- Proactive, result-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills as well as reliability and ability to work under pressure.
- Skilled communicator who can interface with numerous external and internal parties and stakeholders at all levels in a multi-cultural environment.
- Knowledge of engineering techniques, processes and tools, including knowledge in BIM.
- Strong commitment to safe work practices and a high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies.
- Proficiency in Dutch and English is mandatory.
