Project Engineering Specialist - Network Control

The opportunity

Project Engineering focuses on designing, communicating, and implementing an operational plan for completing an Control center SCADA based project including: Preparing design concepts, Engineering documents. Installation, testing and/or commissioning of Control center SCADA system, Monitoring progress and performance against the project plan and specifications; taking action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays. Identifying, developing, and gathering the resources necessary to complete the project. May include preparing engineering standards, designs and work specifications; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors Responsibilities may include: Managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision. Coaching and reviewing the work of lower level professionals. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex.

How you'll make an impact

  • Overseeing the Engineering team in the design, implementation, testing, and deployment of SCADA systems that fulfill the project's requirements and specifications.
  • Making key technical decisions and resolving technical issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Ensuring the quality and performance of the SCADA systems and adhering to the best practices and standards of the industry.
  • Communicating and collaborating with the Project Manager, stakeholders, vendors, customers and other parties involved in the project.
  • Providing technical guidance, mentoring, and training to the engineering team members.
  • Managing the technical documentation, configuration, and maintenance of the SCADA systems.
  • A solid background and experience in SCADA/EMS/ ADMS systems, especially for control center applications.
  • A strong knowledge and skills in programming languages, databases, web services, and other technologies used for SCADA systems development.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, Electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Approx. 08-12 years of experience in power system SCADA , IT/OT integration for power systems application for Electrical utilities.
  • A high level of analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • A good communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required
