The opportunity

Design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects, cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements. Based on technical specification from end customers and inputs from OU Engineering team, prepare Protection & Principle SLD, Schematics, Power supply scheme, Substation layouts - plan & sections, Standard technical specifications for major equipment, R&D activities to improve the work process, Comparison between AIS, GIS & PASS solution, Cost comparison between different solutions, Bill of materials, RFQs, vetting of vendor offers, engg hours estimation, technical risk assessment and opportunity evaluation etc .Coordinate with Engineering Manager, Engineering Leads, Tendering team, Product Manager, Project Managers, SCM, Secondary and civil / steel design functions, consultants, end customers etc. and provide required support in each Project / Tender & development activity.

How you'll make an impact

  • Preparation of all Primary Engineering Deliverables. Experience in handling complete Engineering deliverables for AIS & GIS projects, Exposure to International experience & Standards IEC, IEEE & AS.
  • Substation layouts and section drawings preparation for budgetary offers / tenders / projects based on customer specification.
  • Prepare, review and validate Bill of material for tenders or projects based on requirement.
  • Responsible for all design calculations related to Primary Engineering.
  • Grounding system design, drawings and Bill of Materials Lightning system design, drawings and BoM.
  • Planning of review meetings with LPG, workload for team and opex initiatives. Vendor Offer evaluations.
  • Responsible for obtaining customer approvals for the designs and drawing.
  • Technical risk and opportunity assessment and validation.
  • Take part in customer meetings / site visits for tender/project clarifications Estimation of engineering effort for each project for costing at tender stage.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating the documentation for respective tenders and projects as per quality process.

Your background

  • Bachelors Engineering in Electrical.
  • You should have 5 to 8 years' experience in CAD design tools (Autodesk Revit, 3D competence preferred) and Engineering calculation tools.
  • You should have knowledge of relevant international standards ex. IEEE, IEC etc.
  • You must have Knowledge in substation tendering and project engineering activities (technical & commercial).
  • Individual contributor using in-depth knowledge in a specific area to execute complex or specialized projects / challenges often thinking independently to challenge traditional solutions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of related disciplines in the organization. Works independently, applying established standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
