How you'll make an impact
- You will take responsibility for specification, selection, qualification and verification of converters, passive component and protection concepts.
- You will specifying the STATCOM Control Strategy and Operation Modes for specified project.
- You will be establishing the station main circuit single line diagram and protection block diagrams.
- You will specifying/calculating main components parameters of the STATCOM system equipment such as main busbar, circuit breaker, disconnectors, CT, PT, surge arrestors, capacitor, reactor, Valves & Cooling and alike.
- You will be establishing equipment requirement specifications for sub suppliers, based on input from the system design studies above. Verifying supplier technical documents and equipment testing requirements.
- You will be developing the acceptance performance test procedure as per the requirement in the contract and guiding commissioning team to conduct the acceptance performance testing.
- You will be involved into the design process for STATCOM converter and other electronics converters in future applicable, start from idea generation through simulation, circuit design, prototyping all the way to verification.
- You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background
- You hold a bachelor or above degree in relevant area of Engineering in Power System and Power Electronics, should have minimum 5 years of experience.
- Preferably should have good knowledge about the understanding application of Power Electronics on STATCOM / Power Quality Solution project.
- Should have knowledge of Power Systems equipment and their purpose, such as Power Transformers, Capacitors, Reactors, Instrument Transformer and measuring equipment, Circuit Breakers, Disconnector, Surge Arrester, Valves & Cooling, etc.
- Preferably knowledge on GB/IEC/IEEE standards.
- Preferably experience of power system simulation tools such as PSSE, EMTDC /PSCAD and calculations in MATLAB / Mathcad.
- Knowledge of relay configuration is a benefit.
- Knowledge of Low Voltage switchgear selection, configuration, and circuit breaker selective coordination.
- Strong interpersonal communication skill, Fluent English.
