Product Evaluation and Qualification Senior R&D Professional

The opportunity:

Hitachi Energy is a leading supplier of power semiconductors, offering a full range of Bipolar and BiMOS power semiconductors for applications such as industrial, power generation & distribution, transportation, e-mobility, and renewable energy. Research team continues to push the boundaries of what is possible, using silicon (Si) and silicon carbide (SIC) technology to innovate the next generation of power electronics devices In our product evaluation and qualification team (PEQ) at Hitachi Energy Semiconductors, we make sure to get to the bottom of things and deliver faultless robust semiconductor chips and power modules through a rigorous qualification process.

How you'll make an impact:

• You will be involved in development projects for next-generation semiconductor chips and power modules & collaborate closely with design, process, and product engineering teams to evaluate new product performance.
• You will be responsible for electrical and reliability testing, ensuring high-quality qualification results & develop and manage external testing suppliers (especially in Asia) for outsourced qualification testing.
• Monitor and work closely with test suppliers to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
• Create detailed test plans and specifications based on risk assessments, customer requirements, and industry standards.
• Analyze test results and communicate key findings to project stakeholders.
• Write and review test reports; develop accurate and comprehensive product data sheets.
• Author scientific papers and present products at industry fairs and conferences.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (~20%), primarily within Europe and Asia.
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

• Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical & Electronics, Electronics, Electronics & Instrumentation) with minimum 5 years of experience /Master of Engineering (Power Electronics and / or Semi Conductor Devices) with minimum 3years of experience in Knowledge of power system/power Electronics / Semi-conductors.
• You should have knowledge in Python, Labview, Matlab, CAD software, Statistical analysis tools, Reliability testing & Microsoft office.
• Good leadership qualities,Team work, Analytical, Communication skills, assertiveness.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality digital solutions.
