Plants Project Manager - HVDC

The opportunity:
Plants Project Manager HVDC will be the project manager for Plants & Civil design team focusing on Electromechanical, Electrical (Station Auxiliary Power), and Civil Design (including auxiliary systems) for HVDC projects, will support the project team in executing the project processes with Plants team.
How you'll make an impact:
- You will be a driven proactive project manager for your Plants and Civil design team by cultivating camaraderie and promoting transparency. You will evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform task or sequence of tasks, for conventional projects with few complex features, execute assignments using established processes.
- You will ensure project timelines are met with high quality, utilize standard processes, tools, and techniques, ensure that engineering activities comply with the required safety regulations and contractual requirements.
- You will evaluate risks and opportunities, strategize mitigation of one's engineering projects/programs, support the Project Engineering Manager in overall project risk and opportunity assessments and implementation of resulting actions, identify opportunities for repeating and new businesses, cross functional communication, cooperation, collaboration and coordination for needed input for Plants and Civil departments.
- You will interact with customers, contractors, suppliers, internal disciplines, attend project meetings and present all project management aspects of projects like scope of work, delivery, cost, time and quality.
- You will understand deadlines, budgetary constraints and have a strong sense of responsibility and strategic thinking, and you are comfortable with taking informed decisions for and with your team.
- You will monitor and report progress of project and/or tender deliverables and perform continuous follow-up on scope, time, budget and quality, follow up the specification changes and ensure the communication of changes to all stakeholders.
- You will collaborate on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, following up the progress and driving the technical leads in providing technical support to the site teams. You will interface coordination and performing specific tasks towards our platform builders (in offshore projects), or support our civil design team towards civil partner/sub supplier.
- You will collaborate and networks with project management & engineering colleagues within Hitachi Energy, share best practice across different projects and disciplines. You will be driving the technical leads to a feasible and cost-effective solution for tenders, taking Initiative in tender management execution process optimizations, standardization, improvement, etc.
- You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:
- You hold a bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Equivalent.
- Minimum work experience of 10 to 15 years in Substation primary or secondary project lead or project management in larger projects, leading a technical team or project.
- You must have an understanding of Primary / Auxiliary power design of AC Substations or HVDC Stations, Project management techniques.
- Experience in handling tender support or bidding.
- Its great if you have Knowledge and Skills of HVDC & Offshore Projects, exposure to Control & Protection & System studies is preferred, PMP certification can be an added value.
- Excellent Leadership, Analytical, Communication & Collaboration skills, excellent Multidisciplinary coordination, good intercultural sensitivity.
- Self-starter calibre who could own tasks through to completion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with knowledge of Microsoft office tools.
