MS SQL server Data Engineer

Our Indian Operations Centre (INOPC) is a competence center with around 2000+ skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision, and commissioning. Over the last decade, INOPC has evolved to become the largest engineering hub serving more than 40 countries across different energy sectors. The team caters to the four business units-Transformers, Grid Integration, Grid Automation, High Voltage and has successfully executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.

Mission Statement:

Hitachi Energy, High Voltage Products is implementing Digital solutions to improve efficiency and quality. These are cloud-based solutions that will be used by all manufacturing units within the business unit.

• Strong experience on Microsoft SQL Server and developing T-SQL (Transact SQL) Stored Procedures, Functions and Triggers, SSIS packages.
• Skilled in writing complex SQLs/stored procedures/functions/triggers etc.
• Skilled in optimization and query tuning of complicated SQL statements/stored procedures.
• Experience with performance monitoring tools to identify and address bottlenecks.
• Strong understanding of various types of Indexes, constraints,
• Knowledge of database security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and auditing.
• Experience in implementing security measures to protect sensitive data.
• Understands different data models like normalized, de-normalized, stars, and snowflake models.
• Skill in designing and implementing data integration solutions, including ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
• Ability to design and implement scalable and highly available database architectures.
• Knowledge of clustering, replication, and sharding techniques.

• Degree in Software Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in delivering and supporting enterprise grade applications, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of cloud computing and custom software development processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Technology Stack like Azure Data Factory, Net Core, Azure DevOps, SQL Server / and Entity Framework.
• Strong track record maintaining and optimizing complex T-SQL solutions.
• Experience with Enterprise Service Bus integrations (MuleSoft is a plus)
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality digital solutions.
• Nice to have: MuleSoft Development experience and MS SQL Server Certifications.
• Scripting skills in languages like SQL, Python, or PowerShell for automation and routine tasks.
