The opportunity
The Mechanical Plant Design team (TPM) is part of engineering at HVDC, with the mechanical responsibilities for our green field HVDC projects on a global scale. We are currently around 160 employees operating from 5 countries.
We engineer the mechanical systems of HVDC converter stations, defining how high-voltage equipment is integrated into the overall plant design. From drawings to installation support and final documentation, we bring mechanical systems to life - driving the green energy transition in close collaboration with our Plants Civil Engineering, Plants Electrical Engineering and Plants Project Management offices.
We are now looking for a senior mechanical engineer that will be our next Technical Responsible for Steel Products to join our team! You are welcome in our energetic team with a mix of experienced and young engineers, and colleagues from diverse nationalities around the world!

How you'll make an impact
- Lead and attend global supplier audits related to technical qualifications and standards, focusing especially on processes, welding, and hot-dip galvanization.
- Lead and support in inspections and FAT:s globally with connecting documentation.
- Review project designed manufacturing and conceptual drawings for steel structures to ensure design compliance with production processes and standards.
- Support in day-to-day questions from tender, projects under execution and after-market/service.
- Drive daily continuous improvement by collaborating with other Technical Responsibles to identify and resolve process and documentation gaps through effective action plans.
- Attend global DRM:s (Design Review Meetings) of project specific requirement specifications, together with Design Leads and other internal stakeholders.
- Support in design of steel structures and guide colleagues in design of the same. Preferably also the calculation of the same.

Your background
- A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Deep knowledge of relevant standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 3834-x, and EN 1092-2
- Previous experience in conducting global audits, managing documentation, and ensuring compliance by interpreting diverse international standards in a cross-functional environment.
- Good understanding of drawing standards and requirements.
- Previous experience of managing cross-functional tasks together with global stakeholders is beneficial
- Previous experience or knowledge in production quality control, quality management, or similar is advantageous.

More About Us
The role is based in Ludvika, Sweden and requires frequent presence at our office, with flexibility of hybrid working. The role also requires some business travelling.
