The Opportunity:

Our service BU are tailored to your unique needs, encompassing energy consultancy, sustainability and decarbonization solutions, lifecycle optimization programs, and top-tier cybersecurity offerings.

How you'll make an impact:

  • You will implement the Hitachi Energy Lifesaving rules across the service and project sites, perform self-assessment of LSR at every site inspection and workplace, service sites visit, implement the HSE operating system in Service BU & visit site and provide technical support to the BU service team.
  • You will perform internal audits - report - timely closure, identify and implement opportunities for continual improvement in Service BU, identify potential hazards in workplace, project, and service sites and proactively perform Risk Management & ABRA Assessments and ensure alignment with legal requirements and Hitachi Energy's global standards.
  • You will enforce safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to comply with regulations, guide management, supervisors, and employes to establish a safety culture, work with cross-functional teams to assess and mitigate risks at project and service sites and provide guidance during project planning stages and deliver Safety Expertise for Projects safe executions.
  • You will educate employees and contractors on HSE protocols and emergency procedures and job specific training, analyze root causes of incidents and develop corrective action plans and ensure the horizontal deployment across Service BU, keep and maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, audits, and documentation.
  • You will stay updated with safety technologies and regulatory changes, regularly conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance, present detailed reports with action plans during monthly meetings, and drive the implementation of these actions until completion, engage in external audits of safety management systems and Hitachi's operating system.
  • You will evaluate construction machinery, equipment, and protective gear, assess the contractor's pre-qualification, foster a culture of proactive HSE practices and employee engagement and Safety Awareness Promotions, conduct induction and job-specific training for workers and employees in the planned schedule of the training calendar and serve as secretary for monthly HSE Steco committee meetings.
  • You will monitor systems according to ISO14001 & ISO 45001 standards, utilize risk assessment methodologies and SAP/ERP systems and contractor Performance Monitoring Support evaluation and performance monitoring of on-site contractors.

Your background:

  • Preferred bachelor's degree or Diploma in electrical/ mechanical/ environmental engineering.
  • Relevant 12 to 15 years of working on HSE field (Preferable to work on energy business).
  • Full-time safety course or equivalent NEBOSH will be preferred; completion of an OSHA training program is an added advantage.
  • Strong technical knowledge in construction, EPC, power, electrical installations, substations and switchyard project & service activities. Knowledge about workplace risk assessment methodologies and techniques.
  • Strong Leadership and organization skills, influence stakeholders' perspectives of requirements and activities, ability to Audit and Incident Reporting & in-depth knowledge of country legislation and procedures. Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations to review company practices.
  • Good in verbal and written communication and demonstration & proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
