Logistic Specialist (fixed term contract - 1 year)
The opportunity:
We are seeking for a professional who will support the logistics function of our High Voltage business unit in Lodi.
His/Her focus will be on product transportation, customs clearance and insurance to ensure timely delivery to customers in good condition. This position involves working closely with internal departments such as sales, marketing and finance as well as external suppliers/customers on a daily basis to facilitate smooth operations. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills both written & verbal along with strong organizational abilities.
How you'll make an impact
- Coordinate shipments across multiple modes of transport (air freight, sea freight, road freight) according to customer requirements; ensure safe transit times are met while maintaining quality standards.
- Manage relationships with carriers/forwarders to secure best rates and services.
- Monitor progress of shipments through tracking systems and liaise with relevant parties when necessary.
- Organize customs clearance procedures at origin or destination countries.
- Arrange insurance coverage for goods during transit.
- Prepare documents required for export/import processes.
- Collaborate with other departments regarding inventory management and supply chain optimization strategies.
- Maintain accurate records related to logistics activities.
- Provide support to sales team by arranging sample shipments.
- Assist finance department in resolving any issues arising from invoices or payments related to logistics operations.
Your background:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or equivalent field preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written & verbal.
- Ability to work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
- Detail oriented mindset with attention to accuracy and data integrity.
- Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles helpful but not essential.
- Fluency in Italian and English.
