Mission Statement

As the Power Quality Product Manager at Hitachi Energy India, you will be responsible for driving and managing the development of the Automatic Power factor correction panels(APFC), Metal enclosed capacitor banks(MECB) and low voltage reactive power compensation panels and developing & assessing product costings, future portfolio development / adaptation to local / global environments as well as driving cost saving initiatives of the portfolio at Hitachi Energy India. You will play a pivotal role in creating & implementing value propositions to achieve proper product differentiation with market & customers & thus driving the growth and profitability of the portfolio while ensuring alignment with company goals.

Your Responsibilities
  • Product Strategy: Develop & drive strategic plans for the implementation of right portfolio in domestic & export markets and in alignment with company objectives & customer demand. Collaborate with Global Product Management and Technology teams to ensure proper product tech. requirements, project timelines & de-bottleneck related issues with local and global stakeholders
  • Identify opportunity for material/ process cost reduction together with Design to Value team. Drive and support localization projects together with DtV team and SCM to optimize product cost. Provide required support to SCM for technical discussions with global product support team. Plan endurance test with inhouse laboratory and co-ordinate with operations team for implementation of newly developed parts / portfolio in production.
  • Collaboration with R&D team: Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to drive product innovation, development, and enhancement initiatives. Participate in discussion with R&D team for timely highlighting improvement opportunity to be considered during development phase of the product. Identify customer needs, competitor activities, and emerging trends in the high voltage segment which can be considered during development phase of the product.
  • Responsibility for maintenance of product costs in product configurators and close collaboration with SCM teams to monitor products costs periodically. Co-ordinate with other PQP's to ensure proper transfer price definitions for Operating Units together with optimization of product costs for power quality products.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Manage and plan product launch, pricing strategies, and obsolescence management together with cross functional team.
  • Sales Support: Provide support to the sales team by developing sales collateral, conducting product training, and participating in customer meetings and presentations.
  • Customer Engagement: Engage with key customers to understand their requirements, gather feedback, and address any product-related issues or concerns.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, engineering, and operations to ensure seamless execution of product initiatives.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and standards relevant to high voltage products and ensure compliance in product design and development.

Your Background
  • Bachelor's / master's degree in electrical engineering or related field. Master's degree would add extra advantage.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in Power Quality products, Harmonic filters, Capacitor banks in HV, MV and LV portfolio. Related HV Electrical products / R&D, preferably in the high voltage products industry.
  • Strong understanding of high voltage products, Power quality products, market dynamics, and customer requirements.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to drive product implementation, cost saving and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
