Legal Counsel

How you'll make an impact:

• You will provide expert advice or legal guidance to Hitachi Energy in Taiwan, assist in setting, developing and leading strategy, objectives and targets for Hitachi Energy Taiwan in alignment with Hitachi Energy global strategy, anticipate and identify legal issues of concern to management and proactively develops effective legal strategies and practical solutions, provide expert advice or guidance to the organization on issues relating to integrity and data privacy.
• You will lead projects of significant organization profile in own geographical and solve critical functional or geographical questions/problems across a demanding, broad environment, ensure Hitachi Energy is protected and defended from/on legal issues. You will provide legal advice and counsel to Taiwan management and oversee dispute and litigation matters as directed and in coordination with legal centers of expertise (CoE), drive and ensure consistency in legal services and advice provided by the local in-house lawyers in Taiwan.
• You will ensure that targets and/or Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are achieved and deliver results to Hitachi Energy or local management and external stakeholders, ensure that Hitachi Energy's performance for the function or geography is regularly reported, drive behavioral change to continuously improve function or local performance through programs and initiatives, facilitate the sharing of best practices and ensure harmonized and standardized processes throughout Taiwan to deliver consistent and optimized support.
• You will ensure all employees in Taiwan understand Hitachi Energy integrity standards and act accordingly, act as a personal role model for the organization in this regard, investigate regulatory issues and resolve outstanding cases to minimize Hitachi Energy's legal exposure, disseminate knowledge of own area within the wider legal community and the business, plan and coordinate qualification and training in Taiwan teams.
• You will ensure good corporate governance in the area of accountability; manages implementation of the Code of Conduct in coordination with the Global Competence Center and on-going integrity training and assists in investigation and resolution of any integrity issues that arise, manage, liaise with and oversees use of external service providers, including external counsels, participate in defining the annual budget for area of responsibility and is accountable for managing performance against agreed financial targets and constraints.
• You will be responsible for ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

• Bachelor of Law degree from a reputable law school in Taiwan, a Master of Law degree from a reputable law school abroad or a JD from a reputable law school abroad will be a plus.
• More than 10 years post qualification experience practicing contract, corporate law either as an associate at a reputable foreign or Japan law firm or in a major MNC.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluent English and Mandarin language skills.
