The opportunity
The energy landscape is changing fast, driven by the large adoption of renewables and new demands from transport and industry. Our research team explores how silicon carbide (SiC) power devices can meet new market requirements by addressing the open challenges in this emerging platform. In this role, you will help develop a test setup to study the reliability of SiC MOSFETs under real-world conditions. Join us in Baden-Dättwil and contribute to a dynamic, supportive environment where your ideas matter. The minimum internship duration is 6 months; please submit your full application in English.
How you'll make an impact
- Conduct measurement campaigns and analyze data using state-of-the-art models
- Develop sensor prototypes and automate data collection for deeper insights
- Optimize a half-bridge converter for long-term SiC MOSFET testing
- Upgrade test electronics and software for high-precision, long-duration measurements
- Document and share your findings with research, academic, and business teams
- Collaborate closely with experts in semiconductor reliability and packaging
- Contribute to the advancement of sustainable power electronics
- Work independently and creatively on technical challenges

Your background
- Enrolled in a Master's program in physics, electronics, materials engineering, or similar
- Experience with electrical measurement setups and electronics system design
- Knowledge of semiconductor physics and/or power devices
- Skilled in LabView and programming languages like Python, C, or Matlab
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, creative mindset
