We are seeking an experienced, strategically minded leader to define and drive Hitachi Energy's global events strategy. As our company grows and expands its manufacturing footprint, the volume and strategic importance of events will increase, offering key opportunities to elevate brand visibility and strengthen awareness among customers, policymakers, media, and other stakeholders in local markets. In parallel, Hitachi Energy maintains a strong presence at major energy sector events, congresses, industry forums, and trade shows. We aim to maximize the return on investment from these engagements, streamline efforts, and enhance the consistency of our brand positioning. Reporting to the Global Head of Communications and as a member of the Communications and Government Relations (CGR) team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping impactful event experiences. This position requires deep expertise in event management and communications, as well as strong leadership and organizational skills.

As Global Events Manager, you will be the strategic leader responsible for designing and guiding and/or coordinating the local teams that deliver exceptional event experiences that elevate Hitachi Energy's brand, deepen relationships with key stakeholders, and amplify our global presence across the energy sector. You will lead the global events function with creativity, precision, and purpose, translating our business goals into impactful engagements that inspire action, shape perception, and drive business growth.
Main Accountabilities
As Global Events Manager, you will play a central role in shaping exceptional event experiences that align with Hitachi Energy's global objectives. Your main accountabilities will include:
- Global Event Strategy - Define and execute a comprehensive global events strategy aligned with the company's business priorities, brand positioning, and thought leadership ambitions.
- Flagship Events Ownership - Lead the planning and execution of key strategic events, including industry trade shows, customer summits, investor forums, internal leadership gatherings, and external conferences-ensuring consistency, innovation, and impact across all touchpoints.
- Country specific events - Develop a scalable Hitachi Energy event concept that can be adapted and replicated across different countries and situation, including manufacturing site inauguration or product launch. Provide guidance to local communications teams to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality, impactful events. Be ready to take direct ownership of specific local events when needed.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with the business units, regions, marketing and sales teams to align messaging, objectives, and KPIs for each event.
- Executive Engagement - Support the visibility of Hitachi Energy's leadership team by developing event opportunities, speaker placements, and curated experiences that strengthen relationships with customers, policymakers, and partners.
- Vendor and Partner Management - oversee selection, negotiation, and management of event agencies, production partners, and venue providers to ensure best-in-class execution. Maximizing collaboration and expertise sharing between the teams delivering similar events in different geographies.
- Experience Design and Innovation - Drive continuous innovation in event formats, technologies, and engagement strategies, both in physical and digital environments, to enhance participant experience and audience reach.
- Budget and ROI Management - Manage global event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness, transparency, and clear reporting of ROI and strategic outcomes.
- Crisis and Contingency Planning - Anticipate and mitigate risks across all stages of event planning, with robust contingency strategies in place for global, regional, and local scenarios.
- Internal Events Culture - Champion a consistent, high-quality approach to internal events and employee experiences, fostering alignment, engagement, and company pride.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
This role requires aligning the organization around a unified, strategic approach that embraces diverse perspectives and regional dynamics.
- You will report directly to the Global Head of Communications, while working in close coordination with the Heads of Communications of the Business Units and the Regional Heads of Communications and Government Relations.
- You will be a member of the global CGR leadership team.
- You are expected to inspire, lead, and support a network of communication professionals across countries, fostering collaboration, innovation, and high performance across regions and functions.
- You should build strong bridges across business units, functional teams, and geographies to ensure a cohesive, agile delivery of high-class events.

The ideal candidate will bring a broad and deep skillset developed over a career of strategic leadership in communications and events management, with proven success in complex, international environments. Key requirements include:
Extensive Event Leadership Experience - 10+ years of experience in leading large-scale, global B2B event programs in a corporate, agency, or industry setting, preferably within energy, technology, or infrastructure sectors.
Strategic Mindset with Operational Excellence - Ability to think long-term while delivering flawlessly on complex, multifaceted event programs.
Stakeholder Management Expertise - Proven ability to work with senior executives and cross-functional teams to drive alignment and deliver shared goals.
Creative Vision and Innovation - Strong aesthetic sensibility and experience implementing new technologies, formats, and digital engagement strategies.
Communication and Presentation Skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for storytelling and audience engagement.
Budgeting and Analytics - Experience managing multimillion-dollar budgets and analyzing ROI and event performance metrics.
Global Perspective - Culturally aware and experienced in delivering events across diverse geographies, adapting to local customs, languages, and expectations.
Resilience and Agility - Calm under pressure, with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to managing challenges in fast-paced environments.
Language Proficiency - Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential. Proficiency in one or more additional languages is a strong plus.
