The Global Head of HVDC Plants, Civil and Digital Engineering is a strategic leader responsible for advancing our Global Engineering organization within the HVDC business. This role involves integrating diverse teams across digital technologies (BIM, AIM, Digital Twin Solutions) and traditional engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil Design) into a cohesive global organization.
Reporting to the Global Head of HVDC Engineering, you will set a vision for digital transformation, applying efficient tools and processes, including AI, to enhance innovation and operational efficiency. Your leadership will eliminate silos, embed digital innovation into our culture, and elevate our competitive advantage.

You will drive an integrated organizational structure, communicate strategic direction, and align with broader HVDC business goals. By fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, you will unite previously independent teams. Additionally, you will guide the organization through digital transformation, establishing roadmaps for innovation and adopting cutting-edge technologies like AI-driven engineering solutions, advanced BIM, and Digital Twin implementations.
How you will make an impact
- Digital Innovation: Drive the adoption and evolution of advanced digital technologies (e.g., digital twins, BIM, AIM, AI) to enhance HVDC project efficiency and value in plant and civil design
- Leadership: Inspire and manage a diverse global team, fostering an inclusive and innovative culture that supports professional development and continuous learning.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, effectively communicating the vision and value of digital engineering initiatives. Manage interface and set-up of partnerships in delivery projects with civil designers and contractors
- Project Delivery: Ensure efficient and timely delivery of plant and civil scope in HVDC projects, managing budgeting, financial forecasting, resource planning, and operational performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Optimize resource utilization, address challenges proactively, and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
- Workplace Management: Recruit, select, onboard, and train employees, ensuring a safe, secure, and legal workplace. Develop the right strategic footprint of department size in various countries and regions.
Your background
- University degree in a relevant field.
- Proven experience managing departments and teams in technical projects, preferably in the energy or technology sector, with the ability to handle multiple stakeholders and parallel workflows.
- Strong advantage if experienced with Plant Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil Design processes.
- Strong advantage if experienced with Digital Twin technologies, BIM, or LCI systems.
- Genuine interest in transformation, change management, and digitalization.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of bridging different departments.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
