Digital Innovation Leader

Hitachi Energy's Digital Team is seeking a visionary and action-oriented Digital Innovation Leader to design, lead, and scale a transformational innovation management program that enables our business to deliver high-impact digital solutions for the energy transition.

This role will drive the development of an enterprise-wide digital innovation lab that will enable Hitachi Energy businesses to produce new digital solutions and offerings - from ideation through to commercialization - in collaboration with our internal and external ecosystem.

• Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of a dynamic innovation management program to unlock scalable digital solutions across business lines.
• Oversee the full innovation lifecycle- from idea sourcing and ideation, feasibility and value validation, through to ensuring resulting solutions have a clear path to productization and scale.
• Collaborate with the internal and external partners to grow best practice in co-creation and delivery acceleration.
• Develop innovative funding models, ranging from central to hybrid sources.
• Drive innovation culture across the organization, ensuring teams are equipped with the right tools, methods, and mindsets to innovate effectively.
• Establish governance structures and KPIs to define success, track progress and ensure strategic alignment.

• A senior innovation leader with deep experience designing and scaling innovation systems in large, matrixed, global organizations.
• Adept at working in multi-stakeholder environments, balancing business needs, operational realities, and long-term vision.
• A strategic intrapreneur with a track record working in 'corporate start-up' models - especially in digital, energy, or industrial domains.
• Skilled at bridging technical and commercial perspectives to unlock value from emerging digital technologies (e.g., AI, IoT).
• Experienced in building and leading cross-functional teams, cultivating ecosystem partnerships, and navigating corporate governance.

• 10+ years in innovation leadership, digital transformation, or corporate strategy roles-preferably in energy, industrial technology, or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of digital technology trends, business model innovation, and agile/lean delivery methods.
• Proven ability to scale innovation programs and influence senior leadership.
• Experience in consultative environments with direct customer engagement, co-creation, or solution shaping.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and change management skills.
• Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, MSc, etc.) preferred.
