In this role, you'll work with MACH-our cutting-edge control, protection, and monitoring system-designed with high-performance electronics, fiber-optic communication, and advanced software. You'll be part of a team that designs, tests, and commissions intelligent control systems that enhance grid stability, increase transmission capacity, and support the transition to a more sustainable energy future.

Whether you're a seasoned expert in power electronics or a control systems engineer with a knack for simulation and firmware development, this is your chance to work on high-impact projects that span the globe. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, interface with customers, and travel to commissioning sites where your work directly powers communities.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Design and implement control systems using MACH for FACTS applications
  • Develop and test control algorithms for power converters
  • Perform Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing with real-time simulators
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams and customers during project execution
  • Lead factory acceptance testing and support site commissioning
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and test records
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute to system evolution
  • Provide technical support and participate in customer meetings
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines

Your Background

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (default if not specified)
  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Power Systems, Power Electronics, or Control Theory
  • 10+ years of experience in control systems or power electronics
  • Strong understanding of FACTS applications and control theory
  • Experience with MATLAB, PI/PID control algorithms, and signal processing
  • Knowledge of VHDL and DSP fundamentals is a plus
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
