Communications Manager
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on job for a Comms leader used to getting things done. It requires strong writing and editing skills to lead and shape strategic communications for the High Voltage Products Business Unit (BU) in India, with a clear focus on accelerating the market adoption of the eco-efficient EconiQ portfolio across priority regions. The job holder will own and champion the narrative of the industry's transition away from greenhouse gas SF6 while strategically promoting Hitachi Energy's manufacturing excellence, quality, and innovation to customers and stakeholders. One main deliverable will be to ensure impactful, regionally relevant execution of internal and external communications, supporting business leadership, aligning with BU and Global Product Group (GPG) priorities, and strengthening market positioning in key growth regions.
How you'll make an impact
- Develop and execute a regionalized internal and external communications strategy for the High Voltage Products BU in India, with a strong emphasis on EconiQ adoption and local manufacturing excellence.
- Translate BU and GPG priorities into clear compelling narratives tailored to regional market needs.
- Lead and develop the planning and execution of targeted communications campaigns in close coordination with the BU Head of Communications, the HV Communications team, and India business leadership.
- Drive campaigns that actively promote the benefits of the high-voltage, eco-efficient EconiQ portfolio, addressing the industry transition away from SF6.
- Engage and educate key stakeholders, including customers, management, employees, media, and relevant interest groups.
- Strategically communicate the strengths of Hitachi Energy's local manufacturing footprint, highlighting quality, innovation, and operational excellence.
- Support market confidence by connecting manufacturing capabilities directly to customer value. Build and nurture strong relationships with Indian business and industry media.
- Proactively drive BU visibility through editorials, press releases, trade media features, blogs, and thought leadership content, adapted for regional relevance.
- Oversee the development of high-quality communication assets, including presentations, visuals, targeted advertising, infographics, brochures, leaflets, and posters, in line with brand and regional guidelines.
- Ensure consistent executional excellence across all communications activities, aligned with BU, GPG, and corporate messaging visual identity.
- Measure campaign performance, analyze impact, and provide structured reporting to enable continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams and manage external agencies and suppliers in line with Hitachi Energy SCM processes and governance.
- Cultivate strong supplier relationships, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet strategic objectives.
- Proactively identify and engage new suppliers who offer value and are best suited for region-specific projects. Act as a trusted communications partner to India business leadership.
- Proactively identify communication opportunities and risks within target regions. Support business leaders with personal communication materials, including letters, speeches, talking points, articles, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background
- 15+ years of experience in communications or marcomms.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, matrix organization.
- Strong generalist communications knowledge spanning media management, content production, campaign development, and experience of running targeted strategic communications projects.
- Able to respond quickly and efficiently under time-sensitive circumstances. Cross-industry experience would be an advantage.
- Experience in running local/regional campaigns, training/supporting local stakeholders to represent the company externally.
- Hands-on and able to work as part of a global team in different time zones.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling, and audience-appropriate content across channels on complex topics such as sustainability, technology, and energy transition
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required
